Genre: Rock
For Fans Of: Sounds Of Seasons, Armour US, Past Inhale
The relapse symphony is a modern day rock band at heart, and
they definitely do deserve that title, they’re have the elements of older day
rock in their lyrics and overall sound even their style in person kind of gives
off that vibe of a rock band from the 80’s in a way, I have to be honest for a
debut ep they didn't do too bad, definitely something worth listening to.
“Burning Bridges”
First song on the ep, this song has a rock vibe to it can
you can hear it at the start of the song, the vocal kind of help with the sound
they’re attempting. Near the end of the song you can hear some type of screams
in the background which is kind of helps with the modern day style of rock to
their sound.
Breakdown:
Cleans: The clean vocals kind of have the rock sound to
them, the style definitely fits with the sound they’re to give off, the style
in a way reminds me of a 80s vocalist.
Screams: There’s some type of scream near the end of the
song, doesn’t really show up anywhere else.
Instruments: The instruments give off the vibe of an 80’s
band the most, the sound just perfectly sounds like a rock band from back then.
“Forgotten”
This song is a bit catchier than the first song to be
honest, it kind of has some nice guitar play along with it as well and it has a
guitar solo around the end of the song which really helps out the rock sound
they’re going for.
Breakdown:
Cleans: The vocal style kind of changes a little bit in this
song but, the vibe of the vocals really doesn’t change at all but I’d have to
say this song is a bit more enjoyable than the last song.
Instruments: The instruments still support the rock sound
they’re aiming for, but something happens near the end that really does support
it a bit more, there’s a pretty good guitar solo at that kind of helps the
rocker vibe out a bit.
“Make Your Move”
Third song and I’m pretty sure this was the single they released
for this EP, this song kind of is a bit more pop than it is rock, but in the
end the song is still pretty good, just kind of sticks out on this EP, even the
vocal style kind of bring that pop vibe to the song. The chorus also supports
the factor of it being a pop song pretty well.
Breakdown:
Cleans: If anything the vocal style on this song isn’t
really aimed to rock as it is pop, the style kind of really makes it sound something
from a pop song
Instrument: The guitar riffs, the drumming really kind of
remind you of a pop song, the vocal and the instruments both really make it
stand out with the rock vibe on the other two songs and this
song have more of
a pop type of a vibe to it.
“Panic (Time’s Running Out)”
If anything this might be my favorite song on this ep for
the for rock and the pop vibe it gives off, the choruses are a bit poppy, but
the instruments and the vocals still try to make it a rock song with pop
elements which is pretty nice to see, two styles of music in one song to make
it enjoyable to the listener to listen to.
Breakdown:
Cleans: The cleans kind of remind me of a pop vocalists kind of, a pop vocalist with a rock style with his vocals kind of, but I’d have to say his range is a bit higher than a pop vocalists.
Cleans: The cleans kind of remind me of a pop vocalists kind of, a pop vocalist with a rock style with his vocals kind of, but I’d have to say his range is a bit higher than a pop vocalists.
Instruments: The instruments kind of give off two main vibes
in this song, pop and the rock vibe more of a rock vibe though, but some places
it gives off the pop vibe.
“The Other Side Of Town”
Last song on the EP, this song kind of started like a break
up song but once you get more into it, that vibe kind of goes away but the song
really keeps the rock vibe and was pretty good ending for this debut ep I’d
have to say, I’m kind of stoked for a full length in the future of this band.
Cleans: The clean vocals at first kind of sound a bit poppy,
but then more into the song it has the rocker sound back, but none the less the
vocalist definitely tries to get the rocker sound and does just that.
Instruments: the guitar riffs are pretty cool to listen to
on this song, not the best but they’re pretty decent and there’s a mini solo
type of thing near the end with the vocalist, the drumming kind of gets a lot more
heavier into the song.
