Before you falls debut ep, the production isn't that good but it still cuts the cake when you listen to it. It still gives off this vibe of a post-hardcore band and still kind of catches your attention when you listen to it. This ep wasn't the best for a debut but it definitely really shows you what something from this band would sound like. The only real major flaw of the ep was the production everything else was pretty spot on and greatly done, but if the production was a bit different it would probably been a lot better for them.
“We Have No Shame”
First song on the ep and I’d have to say the guitar play on
this song is pretty good and catchy, along with the lyrics of course being
angry and what not.
Breakdown:
Cleans: The clean vocalist kind of has a new style for post
hardcore, his voice really goes well with the style though and he is definitely
one in a million.
Screams: The screamer on the other hand is more aggressive
it’s more lie he’s angry when he does his screams.
Instruments: There is some great guitar play for sure on
this song, the overall sound is pretty good to, definitely kind of shows of
their sound on the first song so the listener can know what to expect from this
band.
“Your Hair A Wig And Everyone Knows It”
The songs name alone will kind of draw the listener in the
name is sort of humorous. The screamer does something with his screams that is
kind of unexpected as soon as he starts screaming and catches the listener off guard.
Cleans: The clean vocalist kind of sounds like Craig Mabbit
around the middle of the song, which is very unexpected to hear, but it
definitely catches you off guard.
Screams: Still, the screamer sounds mad a bit, but his style
is a bit different but doesn't lose the aggression touch at all.
Instruments: This song has some great guitar play in this I’d have to say, but the drumming really makes it sound better and the drumming a bit more easier to hear.

“I Wish You Would”
This song has a pretty good intro it, it sort of draws you
in to the song which isn’t really a bad thing, the screams are a bit lower than
on the last two songs.
Cleans: The clean
vocals are straighter forward on this song, I think that’s one way the vocals
kind of set themselves apart from other bands.
Screams: The screamer are a bit lower than they were on the
last two songs, but still pretty angry and definitely didn’t change much.
Instrument: The instruments on this song are pretty faster
and speedy along with heavy, I’d have to say but it’s still pretty good to
listen to.
“Visions”
This song is my favorite off this ep I’d have to say, it has
everything a good post hardcore song needs, good cleans, good screams, a great
overall sound behind it and it’s definitely the one song I’d tell people to
listen to when they first listen to this band. The lyrics are my favorite thing
in the song I’d have to say if I was to pick out something.
Breakdown:
Cleans: The clean vocals are once again, straight to the point
and the range is kind of high in this song but it doesn't hurt anyone to change
ranges a few times.
Screams: The screamer sounds angrier than ever before on
this song, his lows are pretty I guess you could say brutal.
Instruments: The overall sound really helps the screamer
with the angry aspect of the song, the guitar is my favorite thing in this song
along with the lyrics.
“RAWR Means I Hate You”
The song title it kind of funny which kind of will make someone
want to listen it but which is nice, it definitely was a good way to end off
the ep, I’d have to say but the factor of the production could be a bit better.
Breakdown:
Cleans: There’s a mixture of cleans with the screams, the
cleans kind of have the voice to them that you usually don’t hear in post
hardcore it’s a bit different for the genre, but it surely makes this band
stand out when you listen to them.
Screams: The screamers style is very aggressive and it seems
like he’s angry when he screams which is a very nice style to have, with these
cleans even better I’d have to say.
Instruments: The song is very heavy, the ep ends on a very
heavy note which is cool to end on, a lot of debut. Seem to end on soft ones,
before you fall did something kind of different.

Debut album from Being As An Ocean, this band shakes hardcore to its own core, they have a really unique type of a sound which is pretty new to hardcore bands, the song’s lyrics are deep in their own sense. This album came out pretty good though I’d have to say, this was one of those releases I couldn’t tell if I wanted to buy it or not, but I did end up buying it and it was a great decision on my part. This band honestly kinds of stands out in their own way, their vocal styles are new and different and something that caught me off guard. I’d have to say their cleans and screams, honestly make them a lot better than most hardcore bands and the ranges on both are in a way different than other bands A few songs that kind of stood out on this album would have to be, Dear G-d, Salute e Vita, Humble Servant, I Am, We Will Never Be The Same. Dear G-d is the title track on this album and probably my personal favorite song on the album, the screamers vocal style is something that makes this song really enjoyable to listen to and it definitely has it’s originality behind it. The lyrics are kind of hard hitting as well as the vocalist emotions behind his vocals, something that’s highly enjoyable to listen in a song. Another song that’s kind of like this is Salute e Vita. This whole album definitely has a lot of great lyrics in it and some really good song structuring to make this album sound even greater.

Cleans: The
clean vocalist shows up in a lot of the songs, his range and style is different
to hear, but makes it more worth the listen to because at first you had no idea
what it was going to sound like and once you hear them, your jaw dropped.
Screams: The
screamer is in all of the song, his style kind of makes it sound like he’s
yelling more than screaming in a sense, but still his style is kind of
different to hear from a lot of bands, even though the yelling style is used a
lot in hardcore than almost any genre, still one of the best voices behind it.
Instruments:
The instruments for the most part are soft, but there’s some hard parts on the
album just more soft.

For Fans Of: Kellin Quinn, Closer To Closure, A Skylit Drive
Debut single from Michael Jagmin, the clean vocalist for A Skylit Drive has a solo project. I’d have to say I kind of like his vocal style in his solo project than his band. This single is pretty good for his debut of his solo project he definitely is talent in every way he can be vocally. The songs chorus is kind of poppy but not exactly it’s on the boundaries. His vocals on this have a lot of emotion behind them it sounds like which is pretty nice to have here and there, I hope he does some more stuff in this solo project to be honest because if it all sounds like this it’ll be pretty sweet to listen to. Michael is probably one of my favorite vocalists in the post hardcore scene because his style changes a lot but it’s not by a lot it’s always minor changes to keep the listener listening to his music which is a good vocal strategy to have in his career.
Breakdown:
Cleans: His cleans are somewhat like they are in A Skylit
Drive, but with more emotion and more power it them it kind of sounds like, but
he is a talented vocalist to say the least.
Instruments: The guitar,
the drum, the bass is all well done to make it sound like a rock song without
the heaviness and screams, the song is pretty soft to say the least.

Third and most recent single from Hollow Like Me, and this time, they went all out they have completely matured and made a song that’s really good not saying the other two weren't good, but this cuts the cake minus the lyrics this song has everything to be a radio hit, the clean vocalist and the screamer definitely improved a lot from older releases this song is kind of catchy, the breakdown in the song is probably the best thing in the song, I’d have to say they really explored their talents and made a great song though. There isn't really anything to hate about the song besides the lyrics could be a little bit better than they are and less vulgarity. Oh did I forget to mention the puking scream isn’t in this song, sadly! This song came out really well to be completely honest, I’m actually pretty stoked on a new release from these guys, I have a huge feeling these guys are going to get a lot bigger in their career of being a band, I’m hoping so anyway they have a lot of talent and they show more of their talents in this song than they did in the other two songs I’d have to say.

Cleans: the clean vocals really did improve a lot since the other two releases, same style just minor improvements, I’m hoping he keeps changing it up little by little.
Screams: No puking screams, (sadly) but the screamer shows more of his scream without anything else near it, just his style.
Instrument: the overall sound is decent, everyone in this band matured a little bit and they grew as a band I’d have to say, I’m pretty stoked to hear more from this band in the future.

Second single from Hollow Like Me, they improved a lot from
the debut single the screamer is way more aggressive than he was in the last
song and the overall sound is pretty straight forward with heaviness the band
matured and grew a lot which is nice to see in a band, seeing how they start
and how they got as they get better and more into it musically. One thing the
screamer kept was his puking sounding screams which is somewhat cool, it sounds
like they kept the same musical structure and just changed it up a bit which is
pretty neat. The clean vocalist got a lot better from the first song I have to
say. This song isn't as repeated as the last one, it pretty much has an order
it goes in, heavy, soft, which really isn't a bad thing but if they keep
this style in every song they write it may get a little bit boring to listen to
after a few times. One thing that really caught my attention on this song is
3:30 the edit to his vocals were pretty unexpected to hear but a great addition
to the song I have to say.

Cleans: The cleans, did improve a lot on this song which
made the song sound a bit better and spiced it up a bit.
Screams: The screamer kept his style and only improved it a
little bit, the puking sounding scream is still there which is nice, something
that really did remind me of the first song was that.
Instruments: The overall sound improved a little bit, still
a pretty repeated from the last song with heavy, soft and then back to heavy
but even with that it has a great sound behind it...

Debut single from Hollow Like Me, a metalcore band that packs a punch! The intro to this song kind of leads you into the song a little bit, the screamers vocal style is pretty generic but he has his own touch to it which is always pretty cool to hear, some people add really nice touches to it and this happens to be one of those guys. I’d have to say this song has midway between heavy and soft, which is almost every metalcore that comes out today, but this band kind of makes it a bit different in their own way, the intro is the main thing that kind of stands out in all honesty, for the reason it sounds like he’s puking kind of like a puke-scream to make the song a bit more interesting. If I had to pick out something I enjoyed on this song it’d probably be the clean vocals, they sound unique with the clean vocalists voice. He kind of sums it up, this song was pretty nice to listen to though and a great way to come into the music scene and a great debut single, This band could end up making it big in their careers for sure, just need to change a few little things.

For Fans Of: Defiler, Slette, Hopsin
Jake from Defiler band is also a rapper, this happens to be one of the latest raps he’s done, this song isn't really that serious but it’s still a decent song to listen to, he wrote it so people could laugh and whatnot. Well, Jake is a pretty good rapper has to give him his credit with the song. The beat also is pretty nice and his flow fits very well with the song and he actually didn't do as bad as people would probably expect him to be. The song is for humor reasons and humor only, I’m sure people will still think it’s serious, but oh well, the song overall is definitely funny and good but he could work on a few things. When I first listened to this song I thought it was kind of a diss but it ended up not being one.

Jake has sick flow to his raps, which is pretty good I kind of hope in the
future he does some type of rap with his band (Defiler) and make them into some
really heavy song or something in their future. His raps and flow are great he
definitely has two music careers on his hands.
Beat:
The beat is pretty nice, it fits and his flow only makes it better. The beat Is
pretty repeated though it’s one of the downfalls of it otherwise it’s pretty good.
