Pyro, Ohio really made a great ep and an even greater album. This has everything a perfect album needs, a great sound, two great vocalist, and lyrics to match. The clean vocalists style changed a bit from the older ep and so did the screamer, change is always good. If anything the changes really made the band better in every way. The sound improved a lot it’s catchier to listen to. The guest vocalists kind of bring out the sound more, it’s always nice to add guest vocalist to make some songs stick out and to add different typed of vocals too the songs. A few songs that stick out on this album have to be, Out West We’re Strangers, Where Are You? Before The Sun Sets. Before the Sun Sets guest vocalist happens to be the vocalist from From Atlantis (another great band to check out) His vocal style made the song stick out, the song is one of the heavier songs on the album too. The screamers style is definitely another huge change in the band, for the better of course. The bands overall sound is a bit softer with some heaviness behind it. I’d have to say this band has the talent to go places in their career. And they should go places.
Breakdown:
Cleans: The clean vocalist improved his range by going bit lower within the range, he still provides joy to the listener though and his range is still unique in a few different ways. The guest vocalist “Kalyn Hall” who shows up only on one song has a very great range and her flow is sick on the song she’s in.
Screams: The screamer got a bit louder than he was on the ep, his style changed a bit. Alex Mola style really added something to the band on the one song he’s in.
Instruments: The overall sound changed a bit, for the better of course. Their sound only improved from the older release.
